The final day of Spring Break Camp was SO busy.
In the morning, students took stock of the props and started attaching some pieces to the stage backdrop:
Then Ms. Scott and Mr. Wright, representing Waterloo's African-American Historical and Cultural Museum, came to share more about the Outdoor Entertainment Center addition they plan to build just up the street from where the Youth Art Team meets.
The team agreed to give $182 of the money they earned from fall sales to the Outdoor Entertainment Center project, along with the money they raise in ticket sales for their production. This drawing shows the full museum project when it is completed:
Ms. Scott also introduced the team to a great project and resource: African-American Voices of the Cedar Valley.
Then after lunch, the team headed back to work finishing up props and stage pieces.
Nightly rehearsals begin next week! Here we go, team!

What a wonderfulllllllll week!! I'm exhausted after reading about it and viewing the many fascinating photos and artwork.
