Give a gift to support Youth Art Team!

For the first time, you can make a gift for the holidays in support of the Youth Art Team!

Youth Art Team is hosted by Link Christian Community Development. Link was formed through a partnership between two local churches: Orchard Hill Church (Cedar Falls) and Harvest Vineyard Church (Waterloo).

You may give one of two ways this season!

To give through Link:
To give through Orchard:
  • Give online here through Orchard (PushPay). Please be sure to type "Link / Youth Art Team" in the memo!
  • Write a check payable to Orchard Hill Church with "Link / Youth Art Team" in the memo and mail to: 3900 Orchard Hill Drive; Cedar Falls, IA 50613.
Both options are tax-deductible.

If you are giving to Youth Art Team in someone's honor this Christmas, you can download and print this card to sign and give. Just print and fold into fourths. (Tip: Prints best at actual size, not scale to print.)

Merry Christmas from the Youth Art Team!

Final weeks of The Viewfinder Project

Don't miss your chance to check out Youth Art Team's photography exhibition, The Viewfinder Project, in its final weeks at the Waterloo Center for the Arts.

Youth Art Team used photography to help people of all ages see life differently, challenging them to use creative thinking in becoming community change makers. Addressing questions such as “What is Ugly?” and “What is Beautiful?” members learned elements of photography including shape, line, shadow, and others. After 16 meetings, the team documented Waterloo’s historic Walnut Neighborhood where they meet.

Learn more about how your group can participate in The Viewfinder Project, a project that reaches young people nationally and internationally. The Viewfinder Project grants free access to the curriculum when you agree to their licensing terms, and they were fantastic to work with.

Youth Art Team photographs are available for purchase!
We can even ship them as Christmas gifts for you. See ordering deadlines below.

To purchase:
View the exhibition at the Waterloo Center for the Arts and choose from 50 photographs – framed prints and prints on canvas – by 25 artists ages 5-18. Admission is free. See the front desk to order. All profits directly support the Youth Art Team's ongoing work!

Exciting announcement!

The Youth Art Team reassembled for the first time in 2014 to celebrate big news! After the team canvassed the same neighborhood with cameras for 16 weeks in 2013, the Waterloo Center for the Arts will soon display 50 of their finest photographs in a public exhibition.

Students worked hard after celebrating that day. They had a lot to prepare...

Carving pumpkins at Visual Logic!

The Youth Art Team's friends at Visual Logic invited everyone over to carve pumpkins today. It was a nice little break from photography.

Visual Logic supported the Youth Art Team's work as they prepared for their play in 2011-12. They also helped send the team to Chicago in the summer of 2013.

We had so much fun today, thank you!
