Night #6 – Celebrating

Youth Art Team's finished canvases on display for families, friends, and community members to view:

And their sketchbooks laid out for guests to peruse:

The students in charge of planning the night's food selection chose to serve ice cream sundaes (one interviewee told two Youth Art Team students that his dreams for the neighborhood are that everyone would get along, and that everyone would have ice cream):

While enjoying ice cream sundaes, guests heard from the Youth Art Team:

Then everyone met JeanJean and Kristie Mompremier who joined us all the way from Haiti:

They shared a little bit about their work and lives in Haiti, showed off some Haitian artwork, and told students that $15 – the price of one Youth Art Team canvas – would buy enough food in Haiti for a family of six to eat for two weeks.

Finally, in honor of a job well done, the Youth Art Team received prints of their artwork along with sketchbooks, watercolors, and paintbrushes:
